It is not as easy as it sounds to plan and throw a party at home. You need to clean your house and get all the essentials ready to give your guests the optimum experience of a good party. But throwing a party at home is relatively cheaper and easier than planning it at a special venue. If you have planned well, everything will go smoothly. Most importantly your guests as well as yourself must have a good time. After all a party is a gathering to catch up with friends and family. Make sure you make the best out of this opportunity. Here are a few tips on how to throw a party at home.

Informing The Guests

First decide on the number of guests you choose to invite. Make sure it is a number that can be accommodated at your house, without making it look too overcrowded. When informing the guests, also mention the dress code.

Food And Beverages

Most people look forward to the food and beverages at a party more than anything else. Decide your menu well ahead of time. It would be hard for you to cook a lot of food, so be wise about what you should order and what you yourself can make. For example, you will be able to make a cheese board or a cake. But finger foods, or main meals are best catered from outside. Store beverages at the appropriate temperatures, like wine in a wine cooler and soft drinks in refrigerators until they are ready to be consumed. Make sure the food is presented well, that will make the guests grabbing for more.

Arrange The Setting For The Party

Decide where you want your guests to walk and sitting around at your house. It could be a living room, garden, kitchen and the tv room. Arrange the furniture in such a way that there is more space for people to walk around. You might have to get some extra chairs for the people to sit if needed. If you plan to have a dance floor make sure it is in such a place that is not in the way of foot traffic. You can have a display of the food in the kitchen or even the garden, away from the dance floor to prevent any spillage. You might want to keep the bedroom doors closed. However, a few bathrooms should be available for guests to use. Decorate the area as you intend to. Some might not decorate the house at all, which is not an issue. But then it should be well lit and cleaned. Some like to go all out and decorate with balloons and banners. This will depend on the occasion for the party and the crowd invited. For example, you can have lots of fun decorating for a themed party. Play some music in the background. Not too loud that you can’t hear what someone is saying to you.

Throw a party at home however you like it to be with careful planning.
