Everyone sees the beautiful reams of graceful nice yards fabrics, but nobody knows the story behind this glamour attire. So, here I am bringing some mesmerising and rich untold stories of the sarees and the websites which will help you in online shopping for designer sarees.

Kanjeevaram Silk Saree

The pure mulberry silk saree which was born around 400 years back in a small town known as Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu during the reign of KrishnaDevaraya. The two weaving communities Devangas and Saligars from Andhra Pradesh migrated towards the Kanchipuram and with their excellent weaving skills they woven the Kanchipuram sarees.

Chanderi saree

Lightweight sheer texture and fine luxurious giving saree is from a small town of chanderi in Ashok Nagar District of Madhya Pradesh. According to some Indian mythology this fabric was introduced by lord Krishna’s cousin shishupal, mentioned in the Maasir-I-alamgir, while some believe that Aurangzeb ordered the cloth with gold and silver embroidery and there are so many other accounts so, it’s hard to put a birth date on Chanderi saree.

In the beginning weavers were mostly Muslim in the year 1350 the Koshti weaver of Jhansi migrated to chanderi and chanderi became the center of chanderi weavers.

BANARSI SAREE

Women adore this saree for its elegance and sophistication. Fabric was introduced by Mughal empire around the 14th century and the saree is a mixture of the cultures and enthusiasm of Mughals. MAHESHWARI SAREE

The saree was first found in a small town of Maheshwar in Madhya Pradesh. Queen Ahilya Bai ordered her craftsmen from Malwa and Surat to design a saree of 9 yards, which later became famous as Maheshwari saree. Saree was amongst the Royal gifts for those who visited the palace of queen. But now the saree has declined its productivity and popularity.

KALAMKARI SAREE

Kalam means pen and kari means craftsmanship. It’s an ancient form of hand painting done on cotton or silk fabric and uses tamarind as natural dyes. Produced in Iran and Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. Print was designed by the weavers of Andhra Pradesh India. In ancient times chitrakars moved from village to village to tell the story of Hindu mythology. For storytelling they used large bolts of canvas painted with dye extracted from plants . The art form gained its peak during the Mughal rule in the middle age.

BANDHANI SAREE

The tie-dye form of traditional technique began 5000 years ago, practiced by the artisans of Kutch. Women started wearing the bandhani saree during the time of banaBhatta's harshacharita. It’s representation can also be seen in the Ajanta caves. Parts of the cloth are plucked with fingernails and dipped into colours and which results in certain irregularities that adds a unique charm to the saree.

Saree is a combination of attractiveness and culture, and I personally adore and appreciate the captivating beauty of sarees. Saree with stylish blouses are the essence of the Indian festive seasons. And of course jewellery has been a staple of ladies with traditional classics which add pearls in their beauty.

As the marriage season is here so online shopping for women is going higher as many websites are providing great offers as well.
