Starting a Fence Company Has Never Been Easier
The home remodeling industry has been exploding, and so has the fence industry along with it. Now is the opportune time to start your own fence company.
Many contractors don't take advantage of the internet as a primary means of getting the word out. Often times, it takes 3-5 years for a new contracting business to build up enough steam with getting consistent referrals and a functional, profitable business. Who has that kinda time? With the internet as the primary tool, your fence company can be bringing in leads in as little as 30 days consistently. The old ways of starting and running a business are over, there's no need to grit and grind to get new customers with all the traditional methods. While the traditional methods are great as a buffer, there are much more efficient ways of generating leads. Relying solely on word of mouth is not the best way to build a business.
Most fence contractors start their business by applying their own personal skill of building fences. Maybe they worked for a fence contracting company before and now have built up the experience and expertise of doing it on their own. But simply knowing how to build fences will not get you a successful business by itself.
The skill of building fences is a great first step, but there are many other puzzle pieces that are needed to build an empire. If you are contemplating starting your own fence company, ask yourself the following questions:
Business registration
Is your company registered with the state to legally transact business?
Don't put your business at risk of litigation
Business insurance
Does your company hold business liability insurance?
If you cause damage to a customer's property who pays?
Bonded
Is your fence business bonded (if required)?
Do you have a consistent way of generating new customers (automation)?
Does your company have a mobile-friendly website?
Do you have a social media presence for your business?
How do you currently track new prospects and new customers?
A CRM is important to track prospects, automate follow-ups, and market to existing customer
Will you be doing the quoting and installation yourself?
Its crucial to work ON the business not IN the business
If you answered no to many of these questions, you have to evaluate whether taking on these tasks yourself or hiring out. Many contractors don't have the required sales and marketing experience to fill in the missing puzzle pieces. That leaves most contractors to trusting a 3rd party company to handle building the website, generating leads, and building a consistent revenue stream. But often times, its difficult to tell the snake oil salesmen from the real companies who have their best interests at heart. Companies like HomeAdvisor, Yelp, and the like are notorious for scamming hard working contractors out of money due to their unintended ignorance with lead generation and marketing tactics.
Now has never been a better time to start a fencing company, and we help you with everything from establishing your business, ensuring you meet local requirements, to generating customers every day of the week.

Rewind to the 1990s, and prior to that. When you needed a product or service, what would you do? Typically you'd look through the yellow pages for the service provider or the local company that sold what you needed. As soon as the internet age hit, circa the late 90s, that changed. Now you went on the internet directory listings to find what you needed. You'd follow the same process to find someone, it was just now easier on the web.
After you find a service provider that you want to get a quote from what do you do? For example, you need your house painted. You call around, get 3 quotes from random local companies. You have a price in your head, but none of the contractors came close to that number. What do you do now? Either settle for the lowest price given, or scrap the project altogether.
That doesn't seem very efficient now does it? What if you could find contractors in your area that met the price requirements you needed?

We are entering a new economy, filled with new business models and many fears of the uncertain. What once was pre-Covid is no longer. Buyer spending habits have changed, job types have changed, and the entire outlook on our daily way of life has changed. But with many uncertainties brings many new opportunities for both businesses and consumers alike.
Unemployment is at an all-time high, which not only makes the crime rate go up, but also creates a sense of desperation among many people. As soon as the unemployment runs out for almost half the nation, things will drastically change and have long lasting effects. Churches near me will become the new search term among people looking for salvation from the terrible crime rates. Companies will need to invest heavily in their internal digital technologies that run their business to ensure that every last dollar is accounted for. Not one stone can remain unturned when it comes to optimizing every aspect of revenue generation.
Right at the onset of Covid-19 and the nationwide quarantine orders, many businesses were forced to make their employees work from home. IT support services were needed for remote workers quickly, so the need drastically increased overnight.
Contracting businesses such as landscaping, solar companiesconcrete contractors, fence building, painting, and home renovation have seen a huge uptick since the pandemic. When I mentioned opportunity, this is only the beginning.
During the pandemic, personal trainers and other health companies saw explosive growth as well due to the sudden need to workout from home. It wasn't only the weight machines and dumbbells flying off the rack, bodybuilding supplement companies also did very well as people retreated indoors to get their workouts completed. Even online sellers like those selling patriotic clothing, alkaline water, and other products/services were greatly impacted positively.
Once we get into the clear, digital marketing and SEO agencies are able to bring companies into the digital age and increase revenue with the new way of doing business. The types of businesses we see today will mostly be either gone or changed entirely. With people getting used to products delivered straight to their homes and curb-side pickup for virtually everything, companies will need to adapt to this new requirement. For the companies that can't adapt, they will become a thing of the past.

Since the March shutdown, we have seen a tremendous explosion in home upkeep and renovation. From fencing companies, to flooring companies, and just home remodeling companies and contractors in general, we've seen most homeowners beautifying their largest investment; their home.
What I believe is that homeowners are in it for the long haul with unemployment at its all-time high, the moving plans have virtually stopped for most Americans. There are only a handful of industries that are still thriving during this time, and those would be my guess to the ones that are still buying new homes. So people have decided that they want to make the most out of the home they are stuck in, by hiring contractors to get the job done.
Everybody is building new privacy fences, getting their trees trimmed, planting new trees, and remodeling their bathrooms. It makes sense, you are stuck in a place where previously you didn't spend that much time, not you notice all the junk and worn out stuff you have in your home and you want to replace it. Plus the fact that you may be unemployed or furloughed and don't plan on moving anytime soon.
My guess is that this trend will continue through the rest of 2020 where we see a slight decline towards the winter time. All we can hope is that the housing market picks back up and our economy starts booming again.

Thousands of farms across the US are turning to the hemp plant for additional income in 2020. Since the Farm Bill was passed in 2018, many are quick to get on board with the new potential profits to be made. However, those seeking to grow hemp need to be educated on the proper resources and the right companies to partner with before taking the plunge. Growing hemp for the purpose of extracting CBD can be risky if the proper seeds aren't purchased. See what happens is that when a hemp plant matures, the amount of THC present in the plant increases, which could potentially make that harvested crop illegal.
The USDA regulates the production of hemp crop, and any farms must adhere to strict guidelines of having less than .3% THC (the psychoactive compound in the cannabis plant) to be considered for products. That goes for the seeds themselves, to the plants, and also to the CBD products for final purchase by the consumer. People aren't buying the CBD products for its psychoactive properties, they use it for anxiety, stress, and pain relief, to name a few.
Companies such as Davis Hemp Farms, specialize in providing USDA-compliant CBD hemp seeds that meet stringent regulations, even at plant maturity. This protects the farmer when their final crop is harvested. The risk really isn't worth it by picking a low cost provider that doesn't meet the regulations. Farmers truly risk having their entire crop seized by their respective state police, as well as any CBD products being seized as well.
The boom is here, American farmers are taking advantage of the free education that some hemp seed manufacturers are providing. CBD is here to stay and many of us can enjoy the many benefits of its fantastic properties.
